Jeder Reisende der in diese Region kommt, kann die Wahrheit dieser Darstellung bestätigen. Ephesos, eines der wichtigen Städte Ioniens hat mit seinen Nachbarstädten, die auch im ionischen Bund waren nähere wirtschaftliche, militärische, politische und kulturelle Beziehungen unterhalten. Bei den gesammten Ereignissen, die sich in der Region abgespielt haben, wurde es von den Ephesern als ein gemeinsames Schicksal angesehen.
Nach der Besichtigung von Ephesos sind die ionischen Städte wie Lebedos, Kolophon und die zu Kolophon dazugehörende Orakelstätte Klaros, Teos, Klazomenai, Erythria, die später ionisch gewordene Stadt Smyrna (Izmir) und am nördlichsten Punkt Ioniens liegende Stadt Phokaia; im näheren südlichen Teil befindlichen Orte Priene, Milet, Myus, Didyma mit dem Apollon-Tempel alle in leicht erreichbaren Entfernungen. Neben den ionischen Städten, die aiolische Stadt Notion, das mit Kolophon enge Beziehungen hatte, Myonnesos, das sich auf der Sıçan Insel in der Nähe von Doğanbey befand; im Norden Metropolis, die Stadt, die bei den Ausgrabungen in Torbalı freigelegt wurde und im Süden die antike Stadt Magnesia sind ebenfalls Reiseziele, die ohne großen Aufwand erreicht werden können.
